| December 25, 2004 | | Photo: Alpenglow Sunset and Moon Rise over Freemont Pass, Colorado |
Today's image was actually shot today, Christmas Eve. This is the view from Freemont Pass looking east as a nearly full moon rises. This type of image can be captured during the 2-3 days leading up to full moon depending upon what degree of angle you're looking up to photograph the object. Because of the brightness of the moon, generally an even exposure that yields detail on the moon requires late afternoon sunlight on the land. Image was captured on a Nikon D100, Nikkor 24-120 @120MM, 1/400th, F/5.6. This topic is covered in our photography workshops. As with all images appearing on this site, they are the property of Loren French, and they are protected by copyright. Any images can be purchased as prints, or right to use can be purchased for any use.
