National Park Nature & Landscape Photography

Photo: Bryce Canyon National Park, Utah

Bryce Canyon National Park, Sunrise, Utah

Purchase Print

This image was captured in Bryce Canyon National Park in the early spring.   Bryce Canyon is one of my favorite parks to photograph, and as a result it's a park where I hold a photo workshop each year.  This was taken from sunset point, looking west.

The image was captured on a Nikon D100 in JPEG mode using a Sigma 28-80 lens.  A tripow was used, the lens was at 56MM, 1/125 @ F/5.6.

If you haven't been to Bryce Canyon I suggest visiting.  These rock formations, called hodo's look fragile, however they are solid rock.  They are shaped when water seeps into cracks and expands and cause the rock break off.  There are several great hiking trails that go though these formations.

As with all images appearing on this site, they are the property of Loren French, and they are protected by copyright.  Any images can be purchased as prints, or right to use can be purchased for any use.
